7th August 2011 we arrive in East Cowes for our Summer Holiday

We arrive after a fairly eventful crossing when the anchor came adrift in a force 6/7 and plunged 30M which I had to recover and hall in in heavy sea's...not for the faint hearted. Anyway we all arrived well set the dinghy up with the new Yamaha 2.5HP outboard....no more rowing!

Doesn't look much but it sure makes life a bit easier when running up to cowes marina.

20th July 2011 On the side at Eastlands

GP on the side having been polished the leg has been removed for servicing but
still awaiting antifouling.

11th July 2011 at Port Solent on the fuel waiting pontoon.

Zena and I wait to take on fuel prior to heading off to Easlands Boat Yard on The Hamble for GP's annual lift for antifoul and service, conditions were calm and sunny......first time we've have had to go out for over two months, as we have been working flat out on refurbishing the new flat.

Cowes Yacht Haven May 21st & 22nd

With the house move next week we thought we would take the opportunity for a weekend away, so we headed for Cowes. We moored in the Yacht Haven which is just off the High Street so a trip to Henri Lloyd was required. On Saturday the weather was glorious sunny & calm but on Sunday the wind had got up and we had to head back in a Force 7 gusting Force 8.
Managed to time our run to get freeflow in to Port Solent (thank goodness) would not of fancied having to put lines on in the lock in the wind....anyway all back safe.

EASTER WEEKEND ON THE ISLE OF WIDGET

Easter Holiday with Jude and Little Zena 24th -28th April 2011

The weather was glorious for April 21 degrees and was sunny for the whole 4 days, we managed to get away on the Thursday afternoon which meant we beat the rush out of Port Solent...so no queing for the lock as we left on freeflow. Here's a rare pic of the Captain (only when she say's I am) and the first mate!
Here's the admiral sporting the shades just so we knew it was sunny. Zena has been nagging me to get the blogg updated since the trip but due to moving offices at the end of April and now moving home at the end of the month things have been a little hectic to say the least....so boating has not been that high up the priorty list.

On Good Friday we took the kids to the steam railway at Wooton and here we are enjoying a day out.
 Grandad with the little terrors!!!!!!!!!
Nanny enjoying the sun with Jude and little Zena waiting for the train.
Here comes the Train.......thank goodness for that as they were begining to dismantle the station, not to mention pour the entire gravel platform on to the track...aaaaaaah!!!!

Grandad I'm very qute really and I never misbehave....... :)
Here is Zee with Jude and Little Zena as we go for a trip up the line.
 Heres the loco...
Well youve got to have the shot of GP, after all thats what the bloggs about....

On deck with the little people...little Zena's getting fed up with how long I take to get the picture.
Any more trouble and I'll be casting you two a drift.......smile and wave boys, smile and wave.

Sun Set in East Cowes..life does'nt get much better than this, well that's it for the moment guys hopefully with the summer proving to be so good we'll squeeze a few more trips in soon. We are already planning a week in August with all three Honor, Jude and Little Zena, plus us two......

Little Zena's First Trip - Sunday 10th April 2011

Zena's first driving lesson aged 2 years

Nanny your embaraassing me!

Look Grandad I'm as tall as the
Spinnaker tower

Zena (she's lovely), always looks like
she's just got off Britania

Baby Zena sets about the dessert.....Yum Yum!

We thought we would get Baby Zena up to speed with boating in preperation for the families annual holiday cruise in August, we stopped overnight on Saturday then on Sunday morning we ran down the harbour to Gosport Marina, just to check out her sea legs....all went well, she was happy to wear her life jacket and sat still whilst we docked, so its all looking good for either the IOW or Weymouth this year.

East Cowes Marina - Sat 16th & Sun 17th October 2010

With another unexpected sunny weekend we took the opportunity to take a trip to
East Cowes Marina, although cool northerly breeze it was beautiful.
Our return trip on Sunday was very calm F2/3 back and moored at Port Solent in under 1.5 hours.
That's probably it for the season....but you never know.

Autum Weekend to Bucklers Hard 9th/10th October 2010

It's a glorious Warm Autum weekend (21 deg C) and time to get one last run in
before the season ends and the onset of winter.

When we arrived it was cloudy, but soon as we started to clean her out come the sun as promised.

Then it was time to sit back take some rays and watch the sun go down.

The following day the suns up first thing along with the wind so heading back is going to be bumpy...

Oh well its been such a great chill out from work.
