New VHF with AIS receiver- 2nd February 2017

Yet another rainy day in February, so I decided I'd use the time to fit our new Standard Horizon GX2200E VHF radio on the boat and link it to the now re-positioned Garmin echomap 55dv which I've inbeded in the helm panel.  In addition I also added a new Standard Horizon Ram 3 VHF Repeater Unit.  I called up the Langstone Harbour Master to test and confirm it was transmitting OK. All proved to be good and talking too each other and the AIS receiver was now displaying vessels on the Garmin Unit.  Then finally, I setup the DSC/MMSI number on the VHF Unit to complete the job. We're all up and running and ready to go, bring on the spring and a return to water.

New VHF fitted with built in AIS receiver

Cut out helm area to fix Garmin to dash

Dust covers fitted for UV protection

Ram 3 remote easily removes
Ram 3 repeater with visual control

AIS working with 'Eyecatcher' visable
Job done all working fine, very pleased with the result
